Nasty Boyz Lead the Charge for Breast Cancer Awareness Through Paintball

At Capital Combat Zone in Troy, New York, the sound of paintball markers and team shouts usually fills the air. But on one special October weekend, the energy felt entirely different. The Nasty Boyz Paintball Team — led by captain and owner Johnny Morse — transformed their home turf into the stage for “Balling for Boobies,” a charity event created to raise funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society’s breast cancer initiatives.

For the Nasty Boyz, this wasn’t just another day on the field. It was a mission that reflected who they are — a tight-knit group united not only by their love of the game, but by a shared desire to make a difference. The team set out to prove that paintball isn’t just about competition and tactics; it’s a platform for connection, purpose, and positive impact.

The Nasty Boyz are known for their intensity on the field, but what defines them most is their sense of belonging. To Johnny and his teammates, paintball is about far more than speed or accuracy — it’s about trust, communication, and the deep friendships that form under the masks.

“Paintball has always been about people,” Johnny shared. “It’s about friendship, adrenaline, and the sense of belonging that comes with every match. It’s something we love deeply, and we wanted to use it for good.”

That mindset set the foundation for what would become one of the team’s most meaningful projects to date. For years, they had been part of a growing paintball community that extended far beyond New York. From regional tournaments to recreational games, the Nasty Boyz witnessed firsthand how inclusive and supportive the paintball family can be. “We realized that if we all came together,” Johnny said, “we could make a real difference.”

The Inspiration Behind “Balling for Boobies”

Like so many others, the Nasty Boyz have seen cancer touch their lives. “Cancer has affected every one of us in some way,” Johnny explained. “We wanted to join the fight and offer our support.”

The idea for “Balling for Boobies” grew from that shared experience. The team envisioned an event that blended fun and purpose — a day where competition met compassion. They wanted to host something open and uplifting, giving players and spectators alike a chance to contribute to a cause that resonates with nearly every family.

When the announcement went live, the response was immediate. Teams from across the region signed up. Local businesses offered sponsorships. Families reached out to volunteer. What started as a small initiative quickly evolved into a community-wide movement.

The event took place on October 5, a crisp autumn morning when hundreds of players and supporters gathered at Capital Combat Zone. Pink banners fluttered in the cool breeze, and every corner of the field pulsed with energy. Teams wore pink ribbons on their gear, players high-fived between matches, and the air was filled with the sounds of music, laughter, and shared excitement.

By the end of the day, “Balling for Boobies” had raised more than $9,000, with additional donations still coming in. Yet, the financial milestone wasn’t what stuck with the Nasty Boyz the most — it was the emotion. “The energy was unreal,” Johnny said. “We showcased that paintball isn’t just a tactical sport — we’re a giving part of the community, dedicated to helping others and guiding kids in the right direction. This event reminded us that we can be bigger than ourselves.”

Participants described the day as one of the most memorable paintball events they had ever attended. For newcomers, it was an introduction to the sport’s welcoming culture. For seasoned players, it was a reminder that competition and kindness can absolutely coexist.

Interview of “Balling for Boobies” 2025

One of the most iconic parts of the event came from the collaboration between Nasty Boyz and Fansidea, the custom sportswear brand that specializes in personalized team apparel. Together, they created exclusive “Balling for Boobies” jerseys — vibrant, pink-accented designs that represented solidarity, hope, and unity.

These jerseys quickly became a centerpiece of the event. Each featured the logos of sponsors who made the day possible, turning every player into a walking message of support. Through the partnership, $10 from every jersey sold was donated directly to the American Cancer Society.

“The jerseys didn’t just help us raise funds — they brought everyone together,” Johnny said. “You could look around and see pink everywhere. It reminded us why we were there.”

For Fansidea, this collaboration was more than just a project; it was an embodiment of the brand’s long-standing belief in giving back to the community. The company was proud to see how something as simple as a jersey could become a symbol of teamwork, empathy, and purpose.

Community Support Across Borders

The success of “Balling for Boobies” was a testament to collective effort. Local businesses — Frostfire Headbands, CRBN Paintball, Kings Creations, Capital Combat Zone, Tri City Extreme, and Ray Audio Video — all stepped up to support the cause. Volunteers handled logistics, players donated gear, and families cooked food for participants.

The impact reached even beyond U.S. borders. A Canadian group known as C1D traveled all the way from Ontario to take part. Not only did they compete, but they also featured the Nasty Boyz on their podcast, spreading awareness to an international audience. Later, they crafted handmade charms to sell, donating the proceeds to the American Cancer Society. Their effort was a reminder that acts of kindness know no distance.

Every contribution — big or small — played a role in making the event a success. And in that shared effort, a powerful truth emerged: when passion and compassion meet, communities grow stronger.

Encouraged by the incredible outcome, the Nasty Boyz are already planning the next “Balling for Boobies” for 2026. They aim to make it an annual tradition and expand their reach into other causes such as mental health and autism awareness.

Fansidea, inspired by the team’s drive, plans to continue supporting initiatives like this. The brand believes that sports have the power to connect people — not just through competition, but through compassion. “Events like this show what can happen when creativity and community come together,” a Fansidea Marketing Director shared. “It’s an honor to be part of something that makes a real impact.”

“Balling for Boobies” was much more than a charity tournament. It became a celebration of unity, resilience, and shared purpose — proof that even within a fast-paced, adrenaline-fueled sport, there’s room for heart. The Nasty Boyz showed that giving back doesn’t require grand gestures — just commitment, creativity, and a willingness to care. Through their partnership with Fansidea and the overwhelming support of their community, they turned a simple idea into something that will continue to inspire others.

At Fansidea, we believe stories like this define the true meaning of sportsmanship. Because giving back isn’t a one-time act — it’s a way of living. And together, we’ll keep finding new ways to turn passion into purpose.
